Video: The Broken Boomerang

Merry Christmas! First of all, to everyone.

I guess this is going to be my Christmas video for this year. Next year, I will be more prepared. I promise. I'm hitting a lot of dead ends in my Moses claymation, and it looks like the final result won't be out until early next year.

I'm pretty proud of this one because it's my first attempt at animating something in mid-air and I composed the music. It went pretty well. Take a look at it first.

What I did was I got 2 miniature tripods and taped them onto some books for some extra height. A regular piece of string was tied between them.

Then a 3 lb fishing line was tied to the clay boomerang to suspend it in the air. Using a clip I could adjust the height of the boomerang on the string.

The metal lamp in the background was used to hide the shadow of the string because a chandelier was hanging directly above my set.

This is the set without the use of the lamp. You can see a slight shadow.

With the lamp.

It's very amateur, but as long as it looks eh...pretty good, I don't need to purchase softwares online. So give me some feedback on what you think.

Have a blessed Christmas!
